Cold heading
Cold heading (forging) is a processing technology that applies pressure to metal in a room temperature environment to form it into shape.
It is also called plastic working because it is processed by utilizing the plasticity of metal.
Arai Parts has more than 100 equipment including the 9-station parts former, which is the largest number in Japan, and has the advantage of being able to produce complex shaped products with cold heading only.
Plastic processing: To form a metal into a desired shape by utilizing the property that it cannot restore its shape when it is deformed by applying a certain force.
Thread rolling
Thread rolling is the process of sandwiching a work (product) between dies (molds) and rotating it relatively.
The advantage is that the processing time is extremely short compared to machining, and there is no cutting of metal fibers, so it yields high strength.
The surface roughness is also extremely smooth.
